We spend our days coding for work. Why would we spend our spare time doing it too?

Extolling the virtues of (seemingly-pointless) side projects. Encouraging engineers especially, but anyone who might want to pick up programming, to try unfamiliar languages and write… anything that sounds fun! It’s a great way of learning things, including picking up tips from other languages’ paradigms.
